Justo Quitugua (Ind-Saipan) thought the meeting was very informative relating to the progress surrounding the construction of the Imperial Pacific Resort.

“We just went there to observe their meeting because we were invited. Also, some of the issues the casino faces such as labor, statutory issues, and the completion of the project [were discussed],” Quitugua told Saipan Tribune.

In that same meeting, IPI reported to the commission that they were “still on target” in completing the building, despite only completing 42-percent of the third floor.

“I just hope [IPI] really assess their projects thoroughly and see if the timeline they are presenting to the commission [is] reasonable, because they have issues on personnel and they have issues on training,” said Quitugua, who was also concerned with the company’s ability to meet its deadline of Aug. 31, 2018, to finish construction.

IPI executives earlier affirmed with CCC executive director Edward Deleon Guerrero that the resort would be completed before the deadline next year.

Reportedly costing $507 million, work on the 14-story resort is still currently at the third floor, raising concerns for the members of the commission.

CCC vice chair Joseph Reyes previously questioned the 62-percent reported completion of the facility. Reyes also noted that a quick inspection of the progress suggests otherwise.

At the invitation of the Commonwealth Casino Commission, members of the Senate Gaming Committee attended…

[4
3126,14722,12497,17672
post-261043","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-local-news","tag-commonwealth-casino-commission","tag-imperial-pacific-resort","tag-ipi","tag-senate-gaming-committee
["GET
