(Contributed Photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Bank of Guam hosted a brunch mixer and workshop for members of the Saipan Young Professionals last Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Called \u201cBusiness &amp; Brunch with Bank of Guam,\u201d the mixer attracted aspiring and current business owners who learned about Bank of Guam\u2019s small business initiatives.  <\/p>\n<p>Marcie Tomokane, Bank of Guam\u2019s vice president\/CNMI regional manager, spoke about commercial loans and other resources that are available.<\/p>\n<p>Tania David, the bank\u2019s AVP\/operations manager, discussed the document requirements for different business structures: sole proprietor, partnership, non-profit, corporate\/incorporated, association and limited liability companies.  <\/p>\n<p>Also present was Larry Philip, the bank\u2019s AVP\/operations support manager. <\/p>\n<p>The participants shared experiences, advice, and motivation with one another. Participants enjoyed complimentary gifts, brunch, and refreshments courtesy of Bank of Guam. <\/p>\n<p>SYP also collected toys from each attendee to benefit the 2017 Toys 4 Tots Program. <\/p>\n<p>One of the participants, Michael C. Manglona, who is a partner in a new business, Saipan Jungle Show Tour, said: \u201cI felt that the information presented spoke to me as an individual diving into business ownership. There are many resources right under our noses and people in our community want to help entrepreneurs like me. I felt that with this mixer. As a partner of a new business\u2026I felt that was necessary to join this event for the networking opportunity as well as for the abundance of information shared.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Another participant said \u201cI\u2019m impressed with the collaboration between BOG and SYP, I wish that when I was just starting up, that I had a support group like this.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The SYP, an official committee of the Saipan Chamber of Commerce, is a group of young professionals.
