(Jon Perez)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Peleliu moved closer to clinching the 2017 Belau Men\u2019s Masters Softball League pennant after completing a 19-12 triumph over the S.A. Masters in last Sunday\u2019s quadruple-header at the Dandan Softball Field.<\/p>\n<p>Peleliu ended the regular season with a 14-2 record and hopes that former leader Brotherhood loses its final game against the Papa Bears this Sunday to secure the pennant. A win by Brotherhood against Papa Bears would force a sudden-death match for the pennant.<\/p>\n<p>Peleliu blasted seven home runs with George David, Brel Kodep, and Mabel Ngirngemelas each connecting twice, and Dominic Remiliik having a solo shot in the sixth inning to give the team a four-run lead.<\/p>\n<p>David also had two runs and two RBIs after going 2-for-4 at the plate, while Kodep went 3-for-4,  touching home thrice and posting six RBIs. Ngirngemelas and Remeliik combined for 4-for-8, four runs, and five RBIs.<\/p>\n<p>Jeff Sablan belted two homers for the Masters with Phil Celis, Mike Sablan, and Ralph Yumul adding one apiece. Jeff Sablan also went 4-for-4 with two runs and five RBIs, while Mike Sablan, 2-for-4, scored twice and had two RBIs. Phil Celis had a run and two RBIs after batting 2-for-4.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sufa 14, Karui 13, 8 innings<\/strong><br \/>\nEd Santos had a walk-off double as Sufa pulled off an upset against the fourth-ranked Karui with Derron Flores scoring the winning run.<\/p>\n<p>Sufa finished the elimination round with a 5-11 record for seventh place, while Karui ended the regular season with a 9-6 card to remain at fourth spot.<\/p>\n<p>David Kapileo, 2-for-2, had two-run shots in the sixth and seventh innings to keep Karui within striking distance. He also scored twice and had four RBIs.<br \/>\nThe loss wasted Taylor Germance\u2019s impressive performance at the plate where he blasted three round-trippers on a 3-for-4 batting to go with his five RBIs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Papa Bears 23, Asahi 12<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Papa Bears used an 11-run fifth inning to pull away against Asahi,  improving their record to 5-10 with one game left.<\/p>\n<p>Batting leader Jojo Attao led the Papa Bears\u2019 onslaught going 4-for-4 with a two-run shot in the sixth aside from making four runs, a double, and five RBIs. John Maratita backed him up by also going perfect at the plate, 5-for-5, with three runs, two doubles, a triple, and four RBIs.<\/p>\n<p>Erik David went 2-for-4 with a run and three RBIs, including a two-run double in the fifth, while Rodney Camacho had singles in four plate appearances and tallied one run.<\/p>\n<p>Toby Sebangial hit a grand slam in the fifth, going 3-for-4  and logging a run and four RBIs, while Allen Teliu went 4-for-4 with two runs and three RBIs. Mike Guerrero also went 3-for-4 with two runs, and an RBI double.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Momma Charu 20, Red Torch 7<\/strong><br \/>\nRed Torch ended its season winless in 16 games after dropping another match against Momma Charu, which secured third place with an 11-5 card.<\/p>\n<p>Payton Sakuma hit a grand slam in the third to highlight Momma Charu\u2019s 14-run inning.
