(Ferdie de la Torre)\n\t\t\t\t<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<p>A man who had gone missing in Illinois and is accused of sexually assaulting a child was tracked down to Saipan and is now awaiting extradition.<\/p>\n<p>Citing the seriousness of the charges, a judge imposed a $1 million cash bail on Sean P. McDonnell, 39.<\/p>\n<p>McDonnell is wanted in the county of Rock Island in Illinois, on multiple charges of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child.<\/p>\n<p>He was arrested on Saipan last Friday and was taken yesterday afternoon before the Superior Court for a bail hearing.<\/p>\n<p>Superior Court Associate Judge Teresa Kim-Tenorio granted assistant attorney general Heather Barcinas\u2019 request to impose a $1 million bail on McDonnell, citing the charges he faces, the danger he poses to children in the CNMI, and his status as a flight risk.<\/p>\n<p>Kim-Tenorio set the extradition hearing for Nov. 13, 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Assistant public defender Nancy Dominski served as counsel for McDonnell.<\/p>\n<p>A joint effort between the U.S. Marshals and the Department of Public Safety led by police sergeant George F. David led to McDonnell\u2019s arrest in Susupe last Friday at about 1pm.<\/p>\n<p>An Illinois judge issued an arrest warrant against McDonnell last Sept. 27 on charges of three counts of criminal sexual assault and four counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child. The Illinois judge imposed a $250,000 bail.<\/p>\n<p>Barcinas charged McDonnell yesterday with one count of fugitive from justice.
