{"id":262500,"date":"2017-10-18T06:06:22","date_gmt":"2017-10-17T20:06:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=262500"},"modified":"2017-10-18T06:06:22","modified_gmt":"2017-10-17T20:06:22","slug":"judge-issues-show-cause-order-ramsey","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/judge-issues-show-cause-order-ramsey\/","title":{"rendered":"Judge issues show-cause order against Ramsey"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A physician is being asked to explain why his wrongful termination lawsuit against the CNMI government should not be dismissed.<\/p>\n<p>If the lawsuit is dismissed, Dr. Gary Ramsey should explain why the dismissal should not be with prejudice, said U.S. District Court for the NMI designated judge Frances Tydingco-Gatewood last Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Dismissal with prejudice means the doctor can no longer re-file the case.<\/p>\n<p>Tydingco-Gatewood said that last Sept. 27, she ordered Ramsey to file an amended complaint by Oct. 11, 2017, or the case would be dismissed.<\/p>\n<p>The judge said Oct. 11 has passed and a review of the docket shows that no amended complaint or motion to extend time has been filed.<\/p>\n<p>Last Oct. 12, the CNMI government, the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp., and other defendants filed a motion to dismiss the case for failure to comply with the court\u2019s order.<\/p>\n<p>Defendants Jeanolivia Grant and CHCC chief executive officer Esther Mu\u00f1a joined in the motion to dismiss.<\/p>\n<p>Ramsey alleges in his lawsuit that the Commonwealth and the public corporation that runs the Commonwealth Health Center wrongfully denied him privileges at the hospital.<\/p>\n<p>Ramsey named as defendants in his lawsuit the CNMI government, CHCC, Mu\u00f1a and several other present and former hospital officials. <\/p>\n<p>On May 29, 2015, the court dismissed the CNMI government and CHCC from the four claims in Ramsey\u2019s lawsuit. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A physician is being asked to explain why his wrongful termination lawsuit against the CNMI&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":23,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[4],"tags":[666,26,18719,259],"class_list":["post-262500","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-local-news","tag-chcc","tag-cnmi","tag-defendants-jeanolivia-grant","tag-lawsuit"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/262500","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/23"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=262500"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/262500\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=262500"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=262500"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=262500"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
