This has always been known as “the casting couch”; Weinstein merely had the misfortune to get caught.

David Icke, a British historian and commentator, makes the point that sexual predators have no feeling of empathy. That is, they cannot “feel” the harm they are inflicting on another person. As a result, they can be abusive, sexually and physically, and feel no compassion or remorse.

In the CNMI we have our share of sexual predators. Usually, alcohol (or perhaps ice) causes a temporary lapse in sanity and empathy and they think their behavior is, at the time, OK. It is not. Despite numerous “awareness months” about physical and sexual abuse, nothing can be done. If someone wants to get drunk and abuse a child, nothing can protect him or her. Can anything be done? Unfortunately no.

Harvey Weinstein’s troubles are simply a distraction from the horrors that routinely occur throughout the world, including here.

Russ Mason
As Teo, Saipan

Harvey Weinstein has fallen from grace because he either tried, or succeeded, to have sex…

[7
26,18746,18747,309
post-262691","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-letters-to-the-editor","tag-cnmi","tag-david-icke","tag-harvey-weinstein","tag-ok
["GET
