Sablan (Ind-MP) issued the following statement yesterday on the Department of Homeland Security\u2019s delay in announcing the CW, foreign worker permit, cap for fiscal year 2018.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy position is that the 2018 cap should go down by one\u2014just one\u2014to 12,997.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat would be the safest decision for the Northern Marianas economy right now. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI will not speculate on why the Trump administration has not yet made a decision on the fiscal year 2018 CW cap. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut I do know that the delay is harmful to our businesses and to workers, who are waiting for the decision and to find out whether they will get the 2018 CW permits they have applied for.\u201d (PR)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>WASHINGTON, D.C\u2014Delegate Gregorio Kilili C.
