The Historical Preservation Office was burglarized over the weekend, resulting in the loss of one of the office\u2019s vehicles and more.<\/p>\n
Department of Community and Cultural Affairs Secretary Robert Hunter related the incident in a posting on Facebook.<\/p>\n
According to Hunter\u2019s post, the burglars managed to get past the office\u2019s steel gate and were able to pry a metal window set that was three feet deep in concrete to allow them access into the office. <\/p>\n
The burglars managed to get away with one of the vehicles belonging to the office and loaded the vehicle with bush cutters, chainsaws, and more. <\/p>\n
The burglars also ransacked the office destroying many of the office\u2019s means of security like doors, drawers, and security cameras. <\/p>\n
According to Hunter, damages are still being assessed and the perpetrator has yet to be caught. <\/p>\n
Individuals who may have any information on the whereabouts of the missing vehicle or stolen items that may lead to the perpetrator may call the HPO at 664-2120 or the Department of Community and Cultural Affairs at 664-2584. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
