Buck was a dear friend and a dedicated public servant for the people of Merizo and our entire island. As a survivor of the occupation of Guam during World War II, Buck was a member of Guam’s greatest generation, and he served our country with distinction, attaining the rank of master gunnery sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a strong advocate for seniors, our environment, and culture, and I will always remember his leadership during my husband Ricky’s administration. I join our entire community in mourning Mayor Buck Cruz’s passing. I extend my condolences to his family and loved ones.
