{"id":264810,"date":"2017-11-20T06:00:29","date_gmt":"2017-11-19T20:00:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=264810"},"modified":"2017-11-20T06:00:29","modified_gmt":"2017-11-19T20:00:29","slug":"pangelinan-leads-way-boleros","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/pangelinan-leads-way-boleros\/","title":{"rendered":"Pangelinan leads way for Boleros"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Gus Pangelinan\u2019s bat has helped the Boleros remain undefeated after six games in the 2017 Saipan Baseball League\u2019s Masters division.<\/p>\n<p>Pangelinan, as of Nov. 10 and before the games were halted because of the Micronesian Baseball Classic in Guam, logged an average of .579 in batting while also figuring prominently in two other individual statistics. He is ahead by .023 over teammate J.J. Laniyo (.556)  and is second to Mark Toves in the runs scored and most doubles. Toves leads both departments with 18 and five  against Pangelinan\u2019s 14 and 3. James Fleming is third in the most runs scored with 12, while Taylor Germance joined Pangelinan in the doubles department with three apiece.<\/p>\n<p>John Cepeda of the IPI Masters is third with .533, followed by GSM Masters teammates Walter Macaranas (.529) and Mark Flores (.522) at fourth and fifth places, respectively. Saisei\u2019s Hector Efraim is at close sixth with .522 with the Boleros\u2019 Mario Aguon at seventh at .500 and Rep. Vinnie Sablan (Ind-Saipan) of the GSM Masters at eighth (.487). John Acosta (.458) of the IPI Masters and Boleros\u2019 David George and Glen Camacho of the Papa Bears, who have similar .444 averages complete the Top 10.<\/p>\n<p>The Bears\u2019 Camacho is joined by Fleming, and Mike Guerrero with the most triples with two each. Efraim also had 13 RBIs, followed by Boleros teammates Camacho and Laniyo with 10 each, while Acosta and Jerry Ayuyu had nine apiece.<\/p>\n<p>The IPI Masters\u2019 Mel Sakisat leads the pitching department with his 1.40 ERA,  followed by the 1.97 of teammate Ben Duenas. The Boleros\u2019 Steve Igisaiar is ranked third (3.18),  while Laniyo (4.20) and Joe Terlaje (4.32) of the GSM Masters are in the Top 5. Phil Celis of the IPI Masters (5.38), the Boleros\u2019 Dave Kapileo (8.03), and Saisei\u2019s Darwin Masaharu (8.17), Dominic Hideo (8.17), and Kuich Damian (9.02) made it to the Top 10 pitching leaders.<\/p>\n<p>Sakisat also has the most strikeouts so far with 19, while Terlaje and Tony Flores are tied at second place with 13 each.
