{"id":264831,"date":"2017-11-20T06:06:18","date_gmt":"2017-11-19T20:06:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=264831"},"modified":"2017-11-20T06:06:18","modified_gmt":"2017-11-19T20:06:18","slug":"hitler-also-stole-vehicle-june","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/hitler-also-stole-vehicle-june\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Hitler also stole vehicle in June\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_264844\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-264844\" style=\"width: 216px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Hitler-Weilbacher-mug.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Hitler-Weilbacher-mug-216x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"216\" height=\"300\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-264844\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-264844\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Hitler Weilbacher<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The 20-year-old man who allegedly stole a Toyota 4 Runner from a store on Capital Hill last Thursday afternoon also stole a vehicle from a Capital Hill home in June.<\/p>\n<p>According to a police report, an officer arrested Hitler Sem Weilbacher last June 21 at Hopwood Middle School in Chalan Piao, where a stolen Toyota Highlander was recovered and later returned to the owner.<\/p>\n<p>In last Thursday\u2019s case, it was Police Sgt. Arnold Seman Sr. and his son, Police Officer 1 Arnold Seman Jr., who spotted and arrested Weilbacher in Gualo Rai, according to the report prepared by Department of Public Safety highway patrol investigator Norris Kwon.<\/p>\n<p>Weilbacher was taken before Superior Court Associate Judge Wesley Bogdan on Friday for his initial court appearance.<\/p>\n<p>A $15,000 cash bail was imposed. Weilbacher was charged with theft of vehicle and assault and battery.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Public Defender Douglas Hartig was appointed as counsel for Weilbacher. Assistant attorney general Jonathan Wilberscheid appeared for the government.<\/p>\n<p>Preliminary hearing will be on Nov. 27 at 1:30pm.<\/p>\n<p>According to Kwon\u2019s report, two Chinese nationals called 911 on Thursday at 12:57pm and reported that their Toyota 4 Runner had been stolen from the Zhan Yu Market on Capital Hill.<\/p>\n<p>Two responding police sergeants reviewed the surveillance footage at the store and learned that the victims entered the store at 12:31pm.<\/p>\n<p>The suspect arrived at the parking lot at 12:34pm, walked around the vehicle, then drove it off after three minutes. <\/p>\n<p>Police identified the suspect as Weilbacher and a lookout bulletin about the stolen vehicle was issued on the police\u2019s radio.<\/p>\n<p>Sgt. Seman Sr. located the stolen 4 Runner at 1:18pm while traveling south on Chalan Pale Arnold Road by the traffic signal light intersection in Gualo Rai.<\/p>\n<p>Sgt. Seman Sr. activated his emergency lights and siren, but the suspect continued traveling south and only stopped along the shoulder lane in front of U Luck Poker across Shell Highway Express Lube and Tire.<\/p>\n<p>After being secured and guided into a police cruiser, Weilbacher allegedly kicked responding officer Seman Jr. in the abdomen.<\/p>\n<p>Kwon said that in his interview that day, Weilbacher admitted to stealing the 4 Runner as well as a Toyota Highlander last June. <\/p>\n<p>Weilbacher also allegedly admitted kicking Seman Jr. in the abdomen and threatened he would kick the officer\u2019s face and steal his vehicle when he gets out of prison.<\/p>\n<p>In the June 21 theft case, Kwon said that a woman called 911 at 11:32am that day and reported that her employer\u2019s silver Toyota Highlander had been stolen from her home on Capital Hill.<\/p>\n<p>A responding police sergeant identified Weilbacher as the suspect.<\/p>\n<p>Later that afternoon, another police officer received information from a teacher that Weilbacher and the stolen vehicle were at Hopwood. <\/p>\n<p>Police arrested the suspect and recovered the stolen Highlander.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 20-year-old man who allegedly stole a Toyota 4 Runner from a store on Capital&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":23,"featured_media":264844,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[900],"tags":[19130,182,197,4193],"class_list":["post-264831","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-featured","tag-arnold-seman-sr","tag-capital-hill","tag-gualo-rai","tag-toyota-highlander"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/264831","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/23"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=264831"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/264831\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/264844"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=264831"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=264831"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=264831"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
