The Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan hosted a Christmas party for the man\u2019amko last Thursday, the eighth time it has done so, this time with over 70 senior citizens attending.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe recognize that the man\u2019amko play a very important role in our community,\u201d said Fiesta Resort general manager Wendi Herring. \u201cYour vision, your work, your wisdom, and your contributions paved the way for all of us,\u201d<\/p>\n
Herring said that Fiesta has given back to the community in more ways than one throughout the year and it would negligent on its part if it were to miss the chance to give back to the senior citizens. <\/p>\n
Herring also said that seeing man\u2019amko last Thursday made her appreciate the importance of living. \u201cLooking at all of you today reminds all of us that it\u2019s not the years in your life that counts; it\u2019s the life in your years,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n
Office on Aging director Walter Manglona is thankful that Fiesta continues to host this event for the man\u2019amko because it means a lot to them and makes them feel special. <\/p>\n
\u201cWalking around and seeing everybody with such big smiles is amazing,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n
Office on Aging congregant Angie Wheat said Fiesta goes out of its way to make her feel special because the chefs of the resort prepared dishes that were both nutritious for her and her fellow man\u2019amko, and would not upset her sensitive stomach. <\/p>\n
Manglona also wanted to especially thank Chelu Photos because they set up a photo booth for the man\u2019amko\u2014a first. <\/p>\n
Chelu Photos took unlimited pictures for free, so the elderly would have souvenirs. <\/p>\n
Manglona said when he spoke with Chelu Photos owner Sylvan Tudela about the man\u2019amko Christmas party; Tudela immediately was on board. <\/p>\n
Fiesta\u2019s department heads served the man\u2019amko all that they needed and even partook in the man\u2019amko dances and activities. <\/p>\n
