{"id":268819,"date":"2018-01-26T06:06:56","date_gmt":"2018-01-25T20:06:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=268819"},"modified":"2018-01-26T06:06:56","modified_gmt":"2018-01-25T20:06:56","slug":"korean-students-recognized-assistance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/korean-students-recognized-assistance\/","title":{"rendered":"Korean students recognized for assistance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Saipan Mayor\u2019s Office presented several Korean exchange students with certificates of appreciation after the group did a beach cleanup on Saipan. <\/p>\n<p>The group of 51 exchange students from South Korea visited the Saipan Mayor\u2019s Office yesterday and were presented with the appreciation certifications. <\/p>\n<p>Saipan Mayor David M. Apatang said it is always appreciated when students from different countries come to the island and contribute to its beautification efforts. <\/p>\n<p>He encouraged the students to come back again with their loved ones the next time so they too can experience the island\u2019s beauty. <\/p>\n<p>The students did their beach cleanups at the PauPau beach and at Sugar Dock. <\/p>\n<p>The group of students was brought to the island by the Sasamo USA Corp. and was led by Grace Suhyunj Jo of the Sasamo USA Corp. <\/p>\n<p>According to Jo, the students arrived on Saipan during the first week of January and will be leaving at the end of the month. <\/p>\n<p>The students were able to visit the William S. Reyes Elementary School, Hopwood Middle School, and a number of other schools on the island. (Kimberly A.
