Throughout the week students will be conducting activities that revolve around this year&#8217;s theme &#8220;Catholic Schools: Serve, learn, lead, succeed.&#8221; Students will also show appreciation for the values instilled in them by the Catholic Church. (Contributed Photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The last week of January has been designated Catholic Schools Week. <\/p>\n<p>Gov. Ralph DLG Torres proclaimed Jan. 28 through Feb. 3 as Catholic Schools Week in a proclamation signing held Friday at the Mount Carmel Cathedral. <\/p>\n<p>Throughout the week, Mount Carmel School will have activities that will revolve around the theme \u201cCatholic Schools: Serve, learn, lead, succeed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Last Sunday, Jan. 28, the school opened the week with a Mass.<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday, Jan. 29, starting at 8am, students created appreciation banners and community service projects at Mount Carmel School. Students wore P.E clothes. Dismissal was  at 3pm. <\/p>\n<p>Today, Jan. 30, at 7:30am students of all Catholic schools will be writing appreciation letters and cards for faculty and staff. At 9am there will be a faculty and staff appreciation program and awarding of 2018 teacher of the year at the MCS cafeteria. Dismissal will be at 12pm. <\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, Jan. 21, there will be a Mass at 8am, a vocations presentation at 9am, an appreciation card-making and vocations talk at 10am, a Jeopardy-style Bible game at 12:30pm at the Maturana building and dismissal will be at 1:50pm. <\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, Feb. 1, students will be creating praise notes, assembling care packages, and there will be a tribute door decoration contest. Dismissal will be at 3pm. <\/p>\n<p>On Friday, Feb. 2, there will be a roadside waving at the Mount Carmel Cathedral field followed by a field day at the MCS courtyard. Dismissal will be at 12pm. Students and parents are encouraged to return at 6pm for a family night celebration where the 2018 Parents of the Year will be awarded. <\/p>\n<p>Saturday, Feb. 3, there will be the awarding of the 2018 AlumKnight of the Year at the Pacific Islands Club Saipan. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The last week of January has been designated Catholic Schools Week.
