(Contributed Photo)\n\t\t\t\t<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<p>Sixteen Marianas High School students completed a successful cultural exchange and ski program with its sister school, Seisa Gakuen High School, in Japan. <\/p>\n<p>The participants in the one-week program, which lasted from Jan. 4 through Jan. 26, were Jeanelyn Rose Gomez, Helen Huang, Louise Li, Katrina Malate, Cerijean Mangubat, Kianny Ogo, Carriecarmen Pangelinan, Ninfa Lyn Rabago, Clarissa Valenzuela Kento Akimaru, John Costales, Kenny Diaz, Ruoxiang John Lu, Philip Punzalan, Ryan Relucio, and David Boyer Roberto. <\/p>\n<p>The program taught the students about the importance of multicultural awareness, experienced a snapshot of the Japanese educational system, and built friendships with their Japanese exchange partners. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Activities included Japanese calligraphy, traditional Japanese paper games, conversational Japanese, going live on the Seisa radio station at the Oisio campus, and building an appreciation of Japanese arts and craft. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In addition to cultural exchange activities, students were also given an opportunity to learn how to ski at the Mount Naeba Ski Resort. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s program marks the 32nd anniversary of the partnership between MHS and Seisa Gakuen High School. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cParticipate and Learn\u201d Program celebrates the diversity of cultures and build friendship among student from both schools. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Those that contributed to the success of the program included the MHS administration, Seisa Gakuen High School administration, Education Commissioner Glen Mu\u00f1a, Board of Education leaders and members, Marianas Visitors Authority, Barney\u2019s, Feng Ze Corp., and the parents of the participants. <strong>(PR)<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sixteen Marianas High School students completed a successful cultural exchange and ski program with its&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":28,"featured_media":268985,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[4],"tags":[19907,19908,19909,365],"class_list":["post-268983","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-local-news","tag-jeanelyn-rose-gomez","tag-katrina-malate","tag-louise-li","tag-mhs"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/268983","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/28"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=268983"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/268983\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/268985"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=268983"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=268983"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=268983"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
