(Jon Perez)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>KONQER Sports will be adding the \u201cBattle of the Schools\u201d in this year\u2019s KONQER Saipan to spice things up for the April 28 race.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cBattle of the Schools\u201d is open to all public and private middle and high schools and each team must be composed of students and faculty members.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are encouraging all students in middle and high school, and their faculty to put together a team,\u201d said KONQER Sports chief executive officer Kaz Endo.<\/p>\n<p>Chacha Oceanview, Dandan, Francisco M. Sablan, Hopwood, and Tanapag, and Rita H. Inos Junior\/Senior High School, Tinian Junior\/Senior High School, Kagman High School, Marianas High School, and Saipan Southern High School are the public schools called out to field teams in the first stop of the  three-nation series that will also take place in Palau and Guam.<\/p>\n<p>Also invited to join the \u201cBattle of Schools\u201d are Agape Christian School, Eucon International School, Grace Christian Academy, Marianas Baptist Academy, Mt. Carmel School, Northern Marianas International School, Saipan International School, Saipan Community School, and Seventh Day Adventist School.<\/p>\n<p>KONQER Sports will be releasing additional details and other information on the new category to be contested along with solo, sprint, completion, and business.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re just informing all the private and public schools about this. We\u2019ll release details soon,\u201d said Endo, adding that they would waive the fees for official school teams.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you are an official school team, we will waive your entry fees so that you can compete in the first ever KONQER Battle of the Schools.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, sign up for the 500 free individual entries ended yesterday with the winners to be announced on Feb. 28. The 500 winners will be randomly picked from a pool of those who registered online at konqersports.com.<\/p>\n<p>Raffle winners will have the chance to choose which leg\u2014Saipan, Guam, and Palau\u2014they want to join.
