Having won the championship in 2016 and the Viewer\u2019s Choice Award in 2017, the team hopes to win the title again this year.<\/p>\n<p>The team is currently made up of five individuals who all attend Marianas High School: Jewel Cubangbang, Ian Cataluna, Michaela Gatdula, Marie Manebo, and Hajin Oh. <\/p>\n<p>In addition to their active participation in the program, their efforts are also seen in the school\u2019s other activities, such as their STEM and the International Thespian Society. Two weekends ago, Cubangbang and Gatdula placed first in the short documentary portion for the Thespian competition.<\/p>\n<p>The team\u2019s overall message is to inspire and promote the STEM culture within their school and the CNMI.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSTEM [science, technology, engineering, and mathematics] inspired us to understand the environment around us and how we can prevent problems that directly affect our wellbeing,\u201d the team said.<\/p>\n<p>In order to shoulder travel expenses, the team is currently selling STEM shirts for $25.
