McDonald\u2019s Saipan donated $5,000 to the Northern Marianas College Foundation for the organization\u2019s upcoming golf tournament. <\/p>\n
Last Tuesday, McDonald\u2019s Middle Road employees and official presented NMC Foundation representatives with the $5,000 as a sponsor of the 15th NMC Foundation Annual Golf Tournament on March 3.<\/p>\n
McDonald\u2019s Saipan has sponsored the golf tournament for over five years. <\/p>\n
The proceeds raised from the tournament will be used to fund student programs, student services, and to improve NMC\u2019s learning facilities. <\/p>\n
According to McDonald\u2019s Middle Road general manager Joe Ayuyu Jr., the establishment is always happy to donate to the Northern Marianas\u2019 only college. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe believe in the efforts of the college toward education and we really value education. We always want what is best for the local community,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n
NMC president Dr. Carmen Fernandez said McDonald\u2019s has always been a consistent supporter and the foundation is grateful. <\/p>\n
\u201cMcDonald\u2019s has been a strong supporter of the Northern Marianas College and has contributed to the success of not only past golf tournaments but also student activities like the Charter Day celebration and other events,\u201d said Fernandez. \u201cWe are grateful for the generosity of the company and of the Ayuyu family for their commitment to the success of NMC and other community organizations.\u201d <\/p>\n
Fernandez also pointed out that the Ayuyu family came to NMC\u2019s aid when Typhoon Soudelor damaged a lot of NMC buildings. The Ayuyu family and McDonald\u2019s helped the college by providing office space for NMC-CREES staff while repair and renovation work was underway.<\/p>\n
Mary Tenorio, president of the NMC Foundation, also expressed her gratitude for the McDonald\u2019s donation.<\/p>\n
