Joe Itibus (R-Saipan).

“[Rep.] Joe Itibus has agreed to meet with me. We’re not going to have any scope of work, but I will present [the sidewalk project idea] to him and we will see what he can do with it,” he said.

According to Thornburgh, the club was not able to obtain any scope of work from partner government agencies or from professionals in the club due to prior commitments so Thornburgh decided to move forward with the project by appealing to representatives of the Saipan and Northern Island Legislative Delegation.

“The problem is [that Rotary members were] not able to do that [draft a scope of work] because Valentino (Triple J Inc. construction operations manager and senior superintendent Mario Valentino) is working with Triple J and they have a lot of projects going on so he is kind of busy, that is why I decided to go forth with Joe Itibus …” he said.

Thornburgh said he will continue in the efforts to make the idea a reality, no matter how long it may take.

“Even if I am not president, I will still pursue [the sidewalk project] because this is mine,” he said.

Thornburgh said community members can expect more project updates soon.

[4
15909,9749,261,5273
post-270089","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-local-news","tag-joe-itibus","tag-mario-valentino","tag-rotary-club","tag-thomas-thornburgh
["GET
