Military training at FDM <\/strong><\/p>\n

ASAN, Guam\u2014The U.S. military will conduct training at the island of Farallon de Medinilla on Feb. 16, from 9:30am to 4:30pm. It is recommended the public, fishermen and marine tour operators monitor the Coast Guard broadcast notice to mariners for advisories. The general location of the training on the island of Farallon de Medinilla will be in a 12-nautical mile radius of the island. (PR)<\/p>\n

CHamoru commission meetings<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Kumisi\u00f3n\u00a0i Fino’ CHamoru yan\u00a0i Fina’n\u00e5’guen\u00a0i Historia yan i Lina’la’ Taotao T\u00e5no’ (Commission on CHamoru Language and the Teaching of History and Culture of the Indigenous People of Guam)\u00a0\u00a0will hold its monthly meetings on Thursday, Feb. 22, March 8 and March 22, 2018 from 12:30pm to 3pm at the Division of Humanities conference room, first floor, Humanities and Social Sciences Building, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, University of Guam, Mangilao.

Creating an alcohol-free, drug-free workplace<\/strong><\/p>\n

Two speakers will talk about how to attain an alcohol-free and drug-free workplace at the Thursday, Feb. 15, breakfast meeting of the Society for Human Resource Management NMI Chapter at the\u00a0Fiesta Resort and Spa Saipan\u2019s Azucena Room, from\u00a08am\u00a0to\u00a09:30am. The speakers are Sandra F. Bordallo, MFT, LPC and Daniel A. Duenas, MSW, MA, from Westcare Pacific Islands. The presentation is open to the public. The speakers will provide an opportunity for questions. Fishery scholarship applications\u00a0due Feb. 28<\/strong><\/p>\n

The U.S. Pacific Territories Capacity-Building Scholarships pays for college expenses to complete a fishery science related undergraduate or graduate degree at universities in Guam and Hawaii.\u00a0Applicants must\u00a0have completed or be in the process of completing their sophomore year in college and be a U.S. citizen or national with strong ties to American Samoa, Guam or the CNMI. \u00a0Contact the Western Pacific Regional Fishery Management Council at (808) 522-5341 or atinfo.wpcouncil@noaa.gov for more information. CJPA meetings set<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Criminal Justice Planning Agency will be holding a youth advisory and supervisory board meeting on Feb. 15, 2018, and Feb. 16, 2018, at the Pacific Islands Club. The meeting will cover CJPA grant funding and awards for various services and programs.\u00a0The meetings will take place from 8am to 5pm on both days. (PR)<\/p>\n

Kagman cluster schools\u2019 PTSA meeting set<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is to inform all parents, guardians, and the community that the Kagman cluster of schools will be having a PTSA meeting on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018, at 11am at Marine Beach. Parents and guardians are encouraged to attend this meeting and are asking that people bring chairs and, if possible, a dish to contribute to the potluck lunch. OPA to hold ethics presentations<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Office of the Public Auditor will be conducting ethics presentations on Saipan, Tinian, and Rota.<\/p>\n

On Saipan, the presentation will be held on Feb. 20, 2018, at the Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center, starting at 9am; there will be a second session starting at 1pm.<\/p>\n

On Rota, it will be on March 1, 2018, at the Northern Marianas College Rota instructional site. On Tinian, it will be on March 9, at the NMC Tinian instructional site. On both sites, the ethics presentation will start at 10am; there will be a second session starting at 2pm.<\/p>\n

While on Rota and Tinian, the staff of the OPA will be notarizing and accepting filings of financial disclosure statements from government officials. <\/p>\n
