Two more persons were arrested in connection with a clandestine methamphetamine lab on Saipan, according to the Drug Enforcement Administration yesterday.<\/p>\n
In a statement, enforcement efforts led to the identification and seizure of the two methamphetamine operations and the arrest of four persons, according to DEA Guam\/Saipan resident agent in charge Edward A. Talbot.<\/p>\n
Talbot did not name the four individuals.<\/p>\n
As of yesterday, only Vincent David Cabrera Jr. and Eugene Blas Repeki have been formally charged before the U.S. District Court for the NMI and Superior Court. <\/p>\n
It is not clear, though, if the case against two other persons have been sealed or if they were released pending further investigation. <\/p>\n
Federal court documents submitted by DEA mentioned two unnamed individuals allegedly involved in the laboratory operations at Repeki\u2019s house in Dandan and at a room at Saipan Vegas Resort that Cabrera occupied.<\/p>\n
Talbot said the DEA began its enforcement operations targeting meth manufacturing and selling activities on Saipan beginning last Sunday. He cited the enforcement aid of the Department of Public Safety, Customs Division, Department of Corrections, the Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services, and the Office of the Attorney General.<\/p>\n
He said the U.S. Marshals Service and the U.S. Attorney General\u2019s Office also provided assistance.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis investigation is a robust example of local and federal cooperation that effectively leveraged multiple resources with successful results and positively impact the communities of the Northern Mariana Islands,\u201d Talbot said.<\/p>\n
