Ralph DLG Torres is pleased with law enforcement busting clandestine methamphetamine or \u201cice\u201d laboratories on island and intends to provide the resources needed if it will lead to the discovery of more.<\/p>\n<p>During a proclamation signing Tuesday at the Women\u2019s Affairs Office on Capital Hill, Torres said he is happy to hear that meth labs were busted over the weekend. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is good news that we\u2019re busting them, although it is unfortunate that we still have them,\u201d he said <\/p>\n<p>Torres believes that the discovery was a joint effort among law enforcers, informants, and the government. \u201cWe are allocating, obviously, the right resources,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<p>This time, Torres will focus more efforts on meth laboratory hunting in hopes of ridding the CNMI of the drug. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are committed, more than ever, and for every other resource that we have, we\u2019ll put into these kinds of operations\u2026. We want to continue moving forward and push every effort that we can to get those drugs out of our streets,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<p>Over the weekend, U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration agents and CNMI Drug Enforcement Task Force and Customs officers busted an ex-convict and a security guard who allegedly ran a clandestine methamphetamine laboratory in a room at the Saipan Vegas Resort and at a home in Dandan. <\/p>\n<p>The men who allegedly ran the laboratories, Vincent David Cabrera Jr. and Eugene Blas Repeki, are awaiting preliminary hearings. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gov.
