{"id":271405,"date":"2018-03-07T06:06:52","date_gmt":"2018-03-06T20:06:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=271405"},"modified":"2018-03-07T06:06:52","modified_gmt":"2018-03-06T20:06:52","slug":"scheduled-power-outage-march-9-10","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/scheduled-power-outage-march-9-10\/","title":{"rendered":"Scheduled power outage on March 9 and 10"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There will be a scheduled power interruption on Friday, March 9, and Saturday, March 10, from 6am to 11am. <\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the power interruption is to de-energize primary lines and allow the Commonwealth Utilities Corp. line crew to safely replace eight 45-foot wooden poles with concrete poles along Chalan Pale Arnold Road on Lower Navy Hill. <\/p>\n<p>The pole replacement task is a sub-project of the CUC Hazard Mitigation Project aimed at strengthening and hardening the power grid through the replacement of 787 wooden poles with concrete poles. <\/p>\n<p>Since the commencement of the project, 338 of 787 wooden poles have been replaced. <\/p>\n<p>The Lower Navy Hill area will be affected by this power outage but not water wells. The S-8 wastewater lift station will be affected.<\/p>\n<p>Travelers commuting northbound and southbound on Chalan Pale Arnold Road in the area of Lower Navy Hill are asked to exercise caution when traveling through the working areas. <\/p>\n<p>For more information, contact the CUC Customer Call Center (664-4282) or monitor its Facebook page for the latest updates.
