{"id":271443,"date":"2018-03-07T06:06:47","date_gmt":"2018-03-06T20:06:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=271443"},"modified":"2018-03-07T06:06:47","modified_gmt":"2018-03-06T20:06:47","slug":"man-arrested-alleged-machete-attack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/man-arrested-alleged-machete-attack\/","title":{"rendered":"Man arrested for alleged machete attack"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Police arrested a man who allegedly slapped another man in the face and attacked him with a machete at a home in Koblerville early Saturday morning. <\/p>\n<p>Shadel Daniel, 32, was arrested for assault with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery, and disturbing the peace. His bail was set Monday at  $10,000 cash; preliminary hearing is on March 12 at 1:30pm.<\/p>\n<p>According to police, the victim was with some of his friends at a home of another friend in Koblerville early Saturday morning when Daniel arrived, slapped the victim in the face, retrieved a machete from his car, and allegedly swung the machete at the victim.<\/p>\n<p>Another friend intervened and told the suspect to stop. Daniel returned the machete to his car but allegedly slapped the victim again.<\/p>\n<p>Daniel left the house after seeing that the house\u2019s owner had called the police. A police officer later found the vehicle and Daniel along Bibingka Avenue in Koblerville and arrested him at 4:33am that same day.
