Free USCIS workshop at Saipan library today<\/strong><\/p>\n

Officers from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services will present a free event today, March 8, at the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library, starting at 5pm. They\u2019ll present a one-hour workshop covering immigration and the naturalization process. The public is invited to attend. Military training at Warning Area 12 <\/strong><\/p>\n

ASAN, Guam\u2014The U.S. military will conduct training at Warning Area 12 during the following dates and times:

\n\t\u2022\tMarch 9, from 7am to 6pm\u2028
\n\t\u2022\tMarch 10, from 6am to 6pm\u2028
\n\t\u2022\tMarch 11, from 6am to 4pm\u2028
\n\t\u2022\tIt is recommended the public, fishermen and marine tour operators monitor the Coast Guard broadcast notice to mariners for advisories. W-12 begins south of Guam and extends south-southwest in international waters. (PR)<\/p>\n

Scheduled power outage on March 9 and 10<\/strong><\/p>\n

There will be a scheduled power interruption on Friday, March 9, and Saturday, March 10, from 6am to 11am to allow the Commonwealth Utilities Corp. line crew to replace eight 45-foot wooden poles with concrete poles along Chalan Pale Arnold Road on Lower Navy Hill. The Lower Navy Hill area will be affected by this power outage but not water wells. The S-8 wastewater lift station will be affected. Philippine consular outreach <\/strong><\/p>\n

The Philippine Consulate General in Guam will be holding a mobile consular outreach on Saipan on March 13-15, at the Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center in Susupe. Note that all e-passport applications require the personal appearance of the applicant. Please wear proper attire (i.e., shirt with collar). OPA ethics presentation on Rota, Tinian<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Office of the Public Auditor will be conducting ethics presentations on Tinian on March 9, 2018, at the Northern Marianas College Tinian Instructional Site, Room D. There will be a morning and afternoon session at 10am and 2pm. If an agency or group of government employees are interested in the presentation, contact the OPA at telephone number (670)322-6481\/2. The OPA staff will also be notarizing and accepting filings of financial disclosure statements from government officials. All filers are reminded to bring with them some form of photo identification, such as a driver\u2019s license or a passport. Failure to do so may result in the denial of notary services. The CNMI Military\/Veteran\u2019s Affairs Office and the Small Business Development Center will be offering a free business seminar called \u201cReboot to Business\u201d at Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan\u2019s Azucena Room on March 26, from 9am to 4pm, presented by Dennis Kwak, director, Veterans Business Outreach Center of the Pacific. Art-in-the-Park at the AMP<\/strong><\/p>\n

In March and April, the American Memorial Park is partnering with artists and organizations to provide free art classes to the community under the 2nd annual Art-in-the-Park series. All ages are welcome.
\nThere will be banana painting with Joy Rankin Santos on March 10, from 9am to 12pm. The Carolinian Affairs Office will teach beading on March 24, from 9am to 12pm. Kimberly Mendiola will teach watercolor painting on April 7, from 9am to 12pm.
\nAt the end of the art sessions, on April 21, artwork will be displayed at the Visitor Center for the National Park Week. Space is limited so register soon! SCC now accepting scholarship applications<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Saipan Chamber of Commerce is now accepting applications for its Educational Scholarship Fund. Hard copies of the Chamber scholarship applications are available at the Chamber office and can also be delivered to schools upon request. Applicants are encouraged to complete the application which are due on or before 5pm on Friday, April 20, 2018, at its office in the Marianas Business Plaza, third floor, Suite 315. The scholarships will be awarded at the Chamber\u2019s monthly general membership meeting on June 6, 2018. Chamber scholarship applications are also available on the website, www.saipanchamber.com.
