The 670 Sonics XVII and Rt. Law Marauder Rollers recorded contrasting wins in the 2018 Frank M. Diaz Memorial Youth League this week.<\/p>\n

The Marauder Rollers escaped with a 30-29 win over the Young Warriors in their boys U15 division game yesterday at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium, while the 670 Sonics XVII eased past the 670 Sonics XVI, 57-32, in last Monday\u2019s second U18 match.<\/p>\n

The 670 Sonics XVII began dominating its sister squad in the second quarter, turning a 12-9 lead to 30-12 advantage at the break. Tony Kim and Parsley Linaogo teamed up for 10 points in the second canto to hand the 670 Sonics XVII a double-digit lead. <\/p>\n

The 670 Sonics XVI was held to a field goal in the pivotal second period off Ronald Bernardo\u2019s triple and never recovered from thereon, as Champ Sabangan and Kim finished things for the 670 Sonics XVII after combining for 12 of the winning squad\u2019s 15 markers in the final frame.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, in yesterday\u2019s lone game, Dillan Cruz and Ervin Villarin nailed key baskets in the second half to power the Marauder Rollers past the Young Warriors. <\/p>\n

Villarin had 6 points in the second half, including the team\u2019s last two field goals, while Cruz added 3 markers with his split charity proving to be crucial in the Marauder Rollers\u2019 close win. Villarin finished with a game-high 12 points.<\/p>\n

Yesterday\u2019s victory was second in a row for the Marauder Rollers, as it came from a 52-8 demolition of Dandan Sonics last Saturday.<\/p>\n

Cruz scored 10 points in the easy win, while Villarin chipped in 8.<\/p>\n

In other results in the U15 division last Saturday, the 670 Sonics hammered Legal Rollers B, 41-20.<\/p>\n

The 670 Sonics built a 20-6 halftime lead and never gave its opponent a chance to mount a comeback for the 19-point winning margin. Raven Francisco top-scored for the 670 Sonics after making 12 points.<\/p>\n

In the U18 division, the China Town Titans, Ol\u2019Aces Extreme, and Ol\u2019Aces Elite prevailed against their respective opponents.<\/p>\n

The Titans routed the Kagman Sparks last Monday, 33-14, behind the 13 points of Joshua Hark Galarion.<\/p>\n

The Ol\u2019Aces Extreme also waltzed past NMI Rollers B last Friday, 60-26, while the Ol\u2019Aces Elite edged T8 Warriors, 39-37.<\/p>\n

Traven Quitugua had 3 straight points, while Andrew Omelau made the Ol\u2019Aces Elite\u2019s last field goal to hand their team the victory. Greg Deleon Guerrero scored the 4 other points of the Ol\u2019Aces Elite in the fourth quarter, while only K.K.
