Camacho Elementary School in San Roque and at the Tanapag Cemetery Monday afternoon and night. <\/p>\n<p>No one was reported injured in the three incidents.<\/p>\n<p>Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services spokesman Derek Gersonde said the first fire was reported at 1:25pm by a GTC school staff.<\/p>\n<p>Gersonde said firefighters from DFEMS Susupe Fire Station-Forestry 1 Unit extinguished the blaze at 3:27pm.<\/p>\n<p>At 4:45pm, another caller reported that the grass fire had broken out at the same location.<\/p>\n<p>Firefighters from Susupe and Garapan fire stations responded and fully killed the blaze at 6:40pm.<\/p>\n<p>Gersonde said the cause of the first fire is undetermined, while the second fire was just a rekindling of the first incident.<\/p>\n<p>Gersonde said a total of half an acre of vegetation was burned and that DFEMS used 1,750 gallons of water for the two operations.<\/p>\n<p>At 6:44pm, a caller reported that fire had broken out at the Tanapag Cemetery.<\/p>\n<p>Firefighters from the Susupe Fire Station-Forestry I Unit stamped out the fire at 7:16pm.<\/p>\n<p>Gersonde said about a quarter of an acre was burned and that DFEMS used 250 gallons of water for the operation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe cause of the fire is undetermined and is being investigated,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>As the CNMI\u2019s dry season has begun, a brush fire swept 4.5 acres of vegetation in Papago last Wednesday. <\/p>\n<p>Two weeks ago, multiple brush fires occurred on Tinian and Rota.<\/p>\n<p>Gersonde reminded the public that the best way to battle grass fires is to prevent it from ever starting.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Three grass fires destroyed a total of over an acre of vegetation near the Gregorio&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":23,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[900],"tags":[4233,4234,14954,6322],"class_list":["post-271915","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-featured","tag-derek-gersonde","tag-dfems","tag-emergency-medical-services","tag-gtc"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/271915","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/23"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=271915"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/271915\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=271915"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=271915"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=271915"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
