{"id":272010,"date":"2018-03-16T06:00:52","date_gmt":"2018-03-15T20:00:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=272010"},"modified":"2018-03-16T06:00:52","modified_gmt":"2018-03-15T20:00:52","slug":"ak-saipan-fetes-dream-car-contest-winners","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/ak-saipan-fetes-dream-car-contest-winners\/","title":{"rendered":"AK Saipan fetes Dream Car Contest winners"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Atkins Kroll Saipan feted the winners of its 12th Annual Toyota Dream Car Art Contest last Saturday at its showroom in Oleai.<\/p>\n<p>The Top 3 winners of the three divisions\u201412-15, 8-11, and under 8\u2014were awarded gift certificates and entry to the international Toyota Dream Car Art Contest in Japan this August.<\/p>\n<p>The winners in the 12-15 age group were Yu Jeong and Dmitri Weilbacher, first place; Elaine Joy Fernandez, second; and Anna Pan, third place.<\/p>\n<p>Yu\u2019s entry, named \u201cDandelion Seed Car,\u201d is a car in a shape of a dandelion seed so that in case of earthquakes or floods, the car can rescue people and turn polluted air into clean air. She said her dream car also makes natural energy at night.<\/p>\n<p>In the 8-11 division, Jeewoo Son took the plum with her \u201cToyota Capsule Car.\u201d She said she made her dream car in the shape of the Toyota logo and it has many features\u2014a camera, an oxygen tank, a clean water system, an \u201canger sensor,\u201d and a charger powered by solar energy.<\/p>\n<p>The rest of the age group\u2019s winners were second placer Diego Luis Cartalava Metran and third placer Arianee Jade San Nicolas.<\/p>\n<p>Only the second and third place winners were awarded in the under-8 category, with Joyce Zhou Hou and Tina Chi taking second and third places, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Atkins Kroll Guam Marketing Department\u2019s Athena Cruz Ramos said the 12th Annual Toyota Dream Car Art Contest is the largest children\u2019s art contest in the world.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt allows the children to be able to share their ideas about the cars of the future and their creativity on what their dream car is going to be, whether it\u2019s from shooting out ice cream, to feeding the homeless, to cleaning the ocean, sky is the limit on what they want,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Ramos said the competition drew 160 entries on Saipan, Tinian, and Rota.
