A surveillance camera allegedly caught on tape a jobless 32-year-old man and a male juvenile opening several lockers at the Pacific Islands Club in San Antonio and stealing two iPhones last March 8. <\/p>\n
Edwin Omar was arrested and taken before Superior Court Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho last Friday for a bail hearing on charges of burglary and theft and criminal mischief. A $15,000 cash bail was imposed on Omar. Preliminary hearing will be on March 22 at 1:30pm.<\/p>\n
A police detective also recognized the juvenile suspect because of the minor\u2019s previous criminal records involving theft cases. The case against the juvenile has been sealed.<\/p>\n
Police said that Omar confessed after his arrest, disclosing that his juvenile companion smashed the two iPhones because he could not open the password lock.<\/p>\n
The first victim lost his pink iPhone 6S worth $450, a silver 18-inch chain 925 necklace valued at $150, and his driver\u2019s license. The second victim lost his black iPhone 5 worth $400.<\/p>\n
Police responded to a burglary and theft incident at PIC last March 9 and met a security guard, who showed the surveillance footage of two males burglarizing lockers at the SEA office.<\/p>\n
The officer viewed the footage and immediately identified Omar and the juvenile.<\/p>\n
Later that day, the officer met with Omar and invited him to the Department of Public Safety\u2019s police substation in Chalan Kanoa.<\/p>\n
Omar allegedly said it was the juvenile\u2019s idea to break into cars at PIC to make some money.<\/p>\n
Omar said they only managed to enter one car as all were locked, but did not get anything.<\/p>\n
Omar said they went behind the PIC building, where he acted as a lookout as his juvenile companion started going through the lockers at SEA office.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
