Guma Hustisia closed yesterday<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Guma Hustisia in Susupe, Saipan was closed yesterday,\u00a0March 19, 2018, due to continuing efforts to repair the air-conditioning system. The Office of Adult Probation Satellite Office behind the Guma\u2019 Hustisia will maintain regular business hours. The Centron Hustisia on Tinian and the Kotten Tinian on Tinian will maintain regular business hours. For additional information, contact Deanna M. Military training in Guam, FDM<\/strong><\/p>\n

ASAN, Guam\u2014The U.S. military is conducting training at Naval Base Guam and the island of Farallon de Medinilla beginning yesterday, March 19, until March 29, from noon to 11pm. <\/p>\n

Residents in the area can expect to hear an increase in Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 25 traffic as part of this training. These trainings are designed to enhance the readiness of military personnel. Residents in surrounding areas should not be alarmed if they see or hear increased activity associated with the training. <\/p>\n

It is recommended the public, fishermen and marine tour operators monitor the Coast Guard broadcast notice to mariners for advisories. <\/p>\n

The general location of the training on the islands of Guam and Farallon de Medinilla will be in a 12-nautical mile radius of each island. (PR) <\/p>\n

Junior high mock trial on April 7<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 13th Annual Junior High Mock Trial will take place on Saturday, April 7, from 8am to 12pm, at the CNMI courthouse, where middle school students of the CNMI will be arguing a fictitious case of a shootout between agents of the Drug Enforcement Agency and a farmer. This year there will be 10 schools participating. Schools will be paired in rounds, which will be presided by a judge. The CNMI Junior High Mock Trial is a signature program of the Northern Marianas Humanities Council where students learn about the law and standard courtroom procedures in a non-competitive format. The program is free and open to the public. The CNMI Junior High Mock Trial is made possible through funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities and in partnership with the CNMI Public School System and the CNMI Judiciary.
