Diaz Memorial Youth League last Friday at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium.

Henry Aguon towed the Young Warriors to the easy win after firing 31 points. He also drew enough support from his teammates, as all the players that the Young Warriors fielded in the match made it to the board. Vince Itigol and Joseph David Magofna finished in twin digits, scoring 12 and 10, respectively.

The Young Warriors broke away in the second quarter, as they leaned on their balance offense to turn a 22-15 lead in the first to a 40-23 advantage at the break. The winning squad padded its lead in the third canto, 55-31, behind the 12 markers of Aguon and was never threatened in the fourth for the 35-point winning margin.

Meanwhile, the Ol’Aces Elite also coasted past the Dandan Sonics, 48-23, in the boys U15 division match last Thursday.

The Ol’Aces Elite had 11 of its players scoring in the lopsided win, while the Dandan Sonics drew baskets from only five players.

The Ol’Aces Elite was in control of the game right from the get-go, taking a 28-9 advantage at halftime and showed no mercy in the second half to hand the Dandan Sonics another loss.

In the boys U18, the 670 Sonics XVIII bounced back from its defeat to the NMI Rollers after cruising past the Ol’Aces Elite, 76-32.

Matthew Kapileo top-scored for the 670 Sonics XVIII with his 15 points, while Keeanu Diaz chipped in 11. Jerome Malasarte, Jeremie Manansala, and Emmanuel Cobacha combined for 24 more points for the 670 Sonics XVIII, making it easier for the team to dispatch its opponent.

With the 670 Sonics XVIII having too many options on offense, it established a promising 34-19 halftime lead and kept going in the second half, while the Ol’Aces Elite failed to counter-attack. No Ol’Aces Elite player hit double figures in last Friday’s game, as its main score, Greg Deleon Guerrero, collected only 7 points.

U15 DIVISION
Friday Game
Young Warriors 76 — Aguon 31, Igitol 12, Magofna 10, Lifoifoi 7, Fejeran 6, Kainoa 6, Sulap 6, Omar 4.
670 Sonics XVI 41 — Dancel 10, R.
