Preparations are in high gear for the upcoming CNMI\u2019s Next Teen Top Model, which aims to spread environmental awareness among oung adults. <\/p>\n
According to CNMI\u2019s Next Top Model coordinator Sharmaine Casquero, she has always instilled among participants that the focal point of the CNMI\u2019s Next Top Model is not beauty or talent, but environmental preservation.<\/p>\n
The theme of the pageant for the past six years has always revolved around trash fashion. This year\u2019s theme is \u201cTrash to Class\u201d where contestants must create fashionable outfits made out of recyclable materials. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt is about creativity, hot fashion, unique styles, and innovation,\u201d Casquero, who has been organizing this pageant for six years now, said. <\/p>\n
Casquero is also working with the Bureau of Environmental and Coastal Quality to arrange an environmental workshop for the candidates and interested individuals where they can gain a deeper understanding of environmental conservation. <\/p>\n
Last Sunday, the Unity Lion\u2019s Club of Saipan put together an event to introduce the 16 contestants. The 16 are a mix of both males and females. The female contestants are: Lucewara Naveen, 14; Revira Trisha Jindra, 13; Cadawan Ma Valerie, 18; Sue Ann Huevos, 15; Mazie Anne Manalang, 16; Janine Magbanua Deleon Guerrero, 13; and Morzina Khan, 18.<\/p>\n
The male contestants are Labao Jeggier, 17; Neil Camay, 16; Yads DeGuzman, 17; Joshua Magno, 18; Salvani Darl Gio, 17; Tristan Joshua Amado, 18; Macrino Carreon, 16; Francis Matthew Macaspac, 18; and Ezekiel Quiroz, 18. <\/p>\n
The contestants performed the talent portion of the competition last Sunday night at Amari\u2019s Tavern. <\/p>\n
According to Casquero, the awarding will be on pageant night, April 22, at the Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan, starting at 6:30pm and all guests are encouraged to dress in formal attire. <\/p>\n
Tickets for the 2018 CNMI\u2019s Next Teen Top Model pageant have been available since March 10 and range from $10 to $20 depending on the seating.<\/p>\n
