{"id":272398,"date":"2018-03-22T06:00:28","date_gmt":"2018-03-21T20:00:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=272398"},"modified":"2018-03-22T06:00:28","modified_gmt":"2018-03-21T20:00:28","slug":"applications-now-accepted-2b-broadband-auction","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/applications-now-accepted-2b-broadband-auction\/","title":{"rendered":"Applications now accepted for $2B broadband auction"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>WASHINGTON<\/strong>\u2014The Federal Communications Commission is now accepting applications from broadband providers of all kinds to participate in this summer\u2019s Connect America Fund Phase II reverse auction. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Areas in the Northern Mariana Islands that are eligible for support from the auction, along with the number of homes and businesses include Rota, with 83 sites; Tinian, with 21 sites; and Saipan, with two.<\/p>\n<p>Providers must submit their applications by March 30, when the application window closes.
