His age at the time of his passing was not immediately available.<\/p>\n<p>Ramon \u201cKumoi\u201d Santos Deleon Guerrero served as a Commonwealth senator representing Saipan from 2000 to 2004. <\/p>\n<p>Deleon Guerrero lost a re-election attempt following his first term. He  ran for the gubernatorial position in 2009 but lost.<\/p>\n<p>Deleon Guerrero also served as executive director of CUC.<\/p>\n<p>As a show of respect, Gov. Ralph DLG Torres directed in a proclamation signed yesterday that CNMI and U.S. flags be lowered to half-staff \u201cas a mark of respect for the life and service of the late honorable Ramon \u2018Kumoi\u2019 Santos Deleon Guerrero.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Three-time former Senate president and colleague Sen. Paul Manglona (Ind-Rota) said in a statement to Saipan Tribune that he remembers Deleon Guerrero as a passionate colleague.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI will always remember [Deleon Guerrero] as an eloquent debater and a strong leader. His term in the Senate reflected his passion for fighting injustice and addressing our islands\u2019 infrastructure needs,\u201d Manglona said.<\/p>\n<p>Sen. Francisco Borja (R-Tinian), who worked with Deleon Guerrero when he was still a CUC executive director, said he was able to secure several projects that benefitted the people of Tinian at the time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[Deleon Guerrero] was a very good person. He was a dedicated public servant, especially when he was an executive director for CUC. He did a lot of things for the people of Tinian; I appreciate it and I extend my condolences to his family,\u201d he said. \u201cThe CNMI lost a great person.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Though he didn\u2019t work with Deleon Guerrero directly, Sen.
