The four men who were indicted in federal court in connection with an alleged clandestine laboratory that made crystal methamphetamine or \u201cice\u201d on Saipan have pleaded \u201cnot guilty.\u201d<\/p>\n
At their arraignment on Wednesday afternoon, Vincent David Cabrera Jr., Eugene Blas Repeki Jr., Rick Urumelog Omar Jr., and Sidney Capelle Kani pleaded not guilty.<\/p>\n
Their jury trial will start on May 31, 2018.<\/p>\n
U.S. District Court for the NMI Chief Judge Ramona V. Manglona ordered the parties to file pretrial motions by April 11, 2018.<\/p>\n
The case and the initial complaint filed against the five were consolidated.<\/p>\n
David G. Banes, the court-appointed counsel for Omar, present Omar\u2019s mother as his proposed third-party custodian.<\/p>\n
U.S. Probation officer assistant Juanette David-Atalig, however, asked for for more time to check the mother\u2019s background.<\/p>\n
Manglona set the hearing on Omar\u2019s renewed motion for release pending trial for Monday, April 2, at 1:30pm.<\/p>\n
The indictment charged Cabrera, Repeki, Omar, and Kani with conspiracy to manufacture and distribute methamphetamine, and conspiracy to possess chemicals, products, and equipment to manufacture methamphetamine.<\/p>\n
In addition, the indictment charged Repeki and Kani with distribution of methamphetamine, and manufacture and distribution of methamphetamine on premises where a child is present and resides.<\/p>\n
The indictment charged Repeki and Omar with distribution of methamphetamine, and manufacture and distribution of methamphetamine on premises where a child is present or resides.<\/p>\n
