{"id":273781,"date":"2018-04-12T06:00:46","date_gmt":"2018-04-11T20:00:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=273781"},"modified":"2018-04-12T06:00:46","modified_gmt":"2018-04-11T20:00:46","slug":"income-tax-deadline-is-monday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/income-tax-deadline-is-monday\/","title":{"rendered":"Income tax deadline is Monday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The filing deadline for income tax, corporate tax, Form 500\u2019s, and request for extensions is this Monday, April 16, 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Tax payers are advised to request for submission extensions as soon as possible.<\/p>\n<p>The Division of Revenue and Taxation will be open at 7:30am and will be extending its hours to 8pm on April 16\u00a0to accommodate the public.<\/p>\n<p>As a reminder, Finance Secretary Larrisa Larson said if there are any issues from prior year tax filings, filers are asked to clear them as soon as possible to expedite the processing of rebates.<\/p>\n<p>Tax forms are available online at the Department of Finance website at\u00a0www.cnmidof.net\u00a0or at their office at the Joeten Dan Dan Commercial Center.<\/p>\n<p>Different tax forms can be downloaded in PDF form by accessing the \u201cdownload forms\u201d tab on the main menu, with further instructions available and additional forms provided on\u00a0www.cnmidof.net\/rev\/forms.asp.<\/p>\n<p>Larson noted that the general rule for which type of income tax return to use are as follows:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 U.S. (US), CNMI (MP), and Guam (GU) citizens, bona fide residents to the CNMI and resident aliens meeting the green card or substantial presence test use the following forms as appropriate: Form 1040EZ-CM, Form 1040A-CM, Form 1040CM.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Nonresident aliens use Form 1040NR-CM. You are a nonresident alien if you are not a U.S. green card holder (granted immigration status as lawful permanent resident of the United States) or you do not meet the substantial presence test.
