Cabrera has asked the Western Central Pacific Fisheries Management Council for an accounting of more than one million dollars they have received.  <\/p>\n<p>Each year the CNMI government sells their allotted tuna quota to the Hawaii Longline Association and gives the money to WESPAC.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWESPAC controls this money, but they are supposed to spend it in our community to promote sustainability,\u201d said Cabrera in a letter to WESPAC dated April 6, 2018. \u201cOur people deserve to know how this money is spent, and who received it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>WESPAC is meant to use the funds to support objectives in the CNMI\u2019s Marine Conservation Plan. <strong>(PR)<\/strong><em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Conservationist and former Division of Environmental Quality director Ignacio V.
