Kanoa Football Club\u2019s Paulynn Joyce ran away with the Golden Boot award in the girls U16 division of the 2018 NMIFA Spring Youth League.<\/p>\n

The Kanoa FC striker capped her domination in the competition by scoring four more goals in their last game in the regular season (against Southern United Football Club on April 7) for a total of 22. Her output was the most scored by any player in the entire league by April 7. TanHoldings\u2019 Taka Borja collected 20 after last April 7\u2019s matches in the boys U15 age group and the division has three playing weekends left, including last Saturday\u2019s.<\/p>\n

It was the fourth time that Joyce tallied four goals in a single game. She registered four goals versus Matansa (Feb. 10), against MP United (March 3), and opposite TanHoldings (March 17). The Kanoa player\u2019s most goals (5) were recorded in their 9-6 triumph over Paire last Feb. 24.<\/p>\n

Joyce won the coveted Golden Boot award against MP United\u2019s Stella McCallion, teammate Sharmaine Francisco, and Southern United\u2019s Keisha Deleon Guerrero. McCallion settled for the runner-up honors after getting 12 in six games, while Deleon Guerrero and Francisco had eight each. TanHoldings\u2019 Judy Andobar rounded out the Top 5 after tallying 6.<\/p>\n

With Joyce and Francisco on target this season, Kanoa finished on top of the team rankings. Last fall season\u2019s champion wrapped up the round-robin contest with a 5-1-0 win-draw-loss record to notch one of the two outright semis spots in the division. Shirley\u2019s took the other Final Four ticket with its 4-2-0 card, while MP United (4-0-2), TanHoldings (3-1-2), Southern United (2-0-4), and Paire (0-1-5) battled for the last two semis seats last Saturday.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Borja is still on top of the Golden Boot race in the boys U16 division after despite failing to score in their 1-2 loss to Kanoa FC last April 7. However, his lead was trimmed down to 5, as Rintaro Miyawaki of MP United managed to gain four more for a total of 15. Borja collected 20 after eight games and his team will play its last match this Saturday against Shirley\u2019s FC.<\/p>\n

Kanoa\u2019s Ian Maniago (15), Matansa\u2019s Lolobeyong Benito (11), and Paire\u2019s Kaden Church (10) joined Borja and Miyawaki in the Top 5 (goals scored in last Saturday\u2019s games were not included).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
