Aside from team building, the event aims to raise funds for the SCC Education Scholarships and similar programs. Deadline for registration is on May 11, 2018, at 5pm. (PR)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Weightlifting federation to hold fundraiser<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The CNMI Weightlifting Federation will hold its 1st Sports Fundraising event on Saturday, May 5, 2018, at the Roundhouse, Garapan Central Park, from 8am to 2pm. There will be food, drinks, books, arts, crafts, clothes, and many other items for sale. The event is being planned to become an annual fundraiser. (PR)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Management \u2018boot camps\u2019 set<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Saipan Chamber of Commerce and Island Training Solutions will be offering a second session in the afternoon for the upcoming \u201cManagement Boot Camp,\u201d a two-part training seminar that teaches managers, team leaders, and aspiring line workers the essential skills to lead others in the workplace. The seminars will take place at the Saipan Chamber of Commerce conference room on the third floor of Marianas Business Plaza, Suite 315. Part 1 is set for Thursday, May 24, from 1:30pm to 4:30pm and Part 2 is set for Thursday, June 21, from 1:30pm to 4:30pm. Registration fee for each course is $50 per person for Chamber members and $55 per person for non-members. Reservations and advance payment are required, as seating is limited. (PR)<\/p>\n<p><strong>VA sets town hall meeting<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is having a town hall meeting in the CNMI, hosted by the Veterans Affairs Pacific Island Health Care System director Jennifer Gutowski.  This will be to share information, hear feedback from veterans and to answer questions on VA healthcare. (PR)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Free seminar on STEP Program for small businesses<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The CNMI Department of Commerce, in collaboration with the Commonwealth Development Authority, will be offering a free seminar focusing on the CNMI State Trade Expansion Program for small businesses that are interested in expanding their market through export. The training will be held at CDA boardroom in San Jose, first floor, today, April 25, 2018 from 9:30am to 11am. The CNMI STEP Program is a state-federal partnership, funded by a grant from the Small Business Administration. (PR)<\/p>\n<p><strong>SCS art show and writers showcase<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Saipan Community School invites the public to its SCS Annual\u00a0Art\u00a0Show\u00a0and Young Writers Showcase on Friday, April 27, at 6pm in the SCS chapel.
