Bordallo (D-GU) issued the following statement regarding an announcement by the governments of North and South Korea that they intend to officially end the Korean War.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe meeting between North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and South Korean President Moon Jae-in demonstrates that diplomacy can and should be the way forward to reduce tensions and bring an end to this conflict. This was an important step, and I encourage all parties to commit themselves to promoting a lasting peace for the betterment of the Korean people and the security of the region.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs these talks continue, I hope President Trump and his administration will play a key role in supporting this effort and reassuring our allies in the region.
