(PR)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Friends of the Arts to stage Into the Woods<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0The Friends of the Arts last play of the season is the musical Into the Woods. The musical will be performed on May 9, 10 and 11, at the\u00a0Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center in Susupe. All shows starting at 7pm. Tickets prices for all three shows start at $4 for students, $6 for FOA members, and $8 for adults and\u00a0half-price for all moms! You may purchase tickets at Bridge Capital at their front desk and from members of the play\u2019s cast. (PR)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Regional assessment at NBG<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>SANTA RITA, Guam\u2014A Regional Assessment is scheduled to be conducted on U.S. Naval Base Guam on May 1-4. RASS is part of Commander Naval Installation Command&#8217;s Navy security force shore assessment and certification cycle. A team from Joint Region Marianas will review all aspects of the installation&#8217;s emergency services. The Force Protection Condition may be elevated requiring full ID card checks at the gates. Additionally, the Trusted Traveler program\u2014a program that authorizes DoD ID card holders to escort guests onto NBG\u2014may be suspended during the higher FPCON. As part of the assessment, the NBG Giant Voice system may be activated, and residents in surrounding areas of the GV speakers may hear announcements.  (PR)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Registration open for 2018 Corporate Challenge<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Saipan Chamber of Commerce will hold its 18th Annual Corporate Challenge on May 27, 2018 at the Minatchom Atdao Pavillion in Susupe and is now accepting teams for registration. Aside from team building, the event aims to raise funds for the SCC Education Scholarships and similar programs. Deadline for registration is on May 11, 2018, at 5pm. (PR)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Weightlifting federation to hold fundraiser<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The CNMI Weightlifting Federation will hold its 1st Sports Fundraising event on Saturday, May 5, 2018, at the Roundhouse, Garapan Central Park, from 8am to 2pm. There will be food, drinks, books, arts, crafts, clothes and many other items for sale. The event is being planned to become an annual fundraiser. (PR)<\/p>\n<p><strong>VA sets town hall meeting<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is having a town hall meeting on Tinian today, May 3, from 9:30am to 11:30am, at the Mayor of Tinian\u2019s conference room, hosted by the Veterans Affairs Pacific Island Health Care System director Jennifer Gutowski.  This will be to share information, hear feedback from veterans and to answer questions on VA healthcare. All veterans, their families, survivors and any organization or individual who works with or on behalf of veterans are encouraged to attend. Point of contact is Ruth Coleman at 322-0035. (PR)<\/p>\n<p><strong>OES registration information<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Oleai Elementary School will be accepting registration for new enrollees for school year 2018-2019:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Kindergarten: starting on April 16, 2018<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 1st to 5th Grade: June 11, 2018<\/p>\n<p>Students entering Kindergarten must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 30. <\/p>\n<p>Registration forms are available at our main office.
