The office of Delegate Gregorio Kilili C. Sablan (Ind-MP) has offered a tribute to the lone museum in the CNMI. <\/p>\n
During the CNMI Museum\u2019s 20th anniversary last Friday, Sablan and his staff presented museum staff with a congressional record that recognized the tremendous progress it has achieved in less than a year.<\/p>\n
Sablan said he feels it necessary to pay tribute to the amount of work that was put into the museum\u2019s restoration. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe special part about this is that there is a desk in there that I was told belonged to my grandfather\u2026it\u2019s touching because there was someone I didn\u2019t get to know that is being honored by the desk he used,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n
\u201cIn just two months, you could see the energy that everyone was putting into the restoration of the museum so we could make it a place of pride for the Northern Marianas\u2026almost four months after my first visit, it was just wow, how did you get this done,\u201d he added. <\/p>\n
Sablan was just amazed by the progress made in the museum\u2019s rehabilitation because, in the seven years before CNMI Museum executive director Daniel Aquino came on board, the museum was not touched. \u201cNow, here it is in six months\u2026I was so impressed,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n
Sablan also presented tributes to each government and private agency that offered assistance in the restoration of the museum. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
