Monroyo)\n\t\t\t\t<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<p>Koblerville Elementary School drew first blood in the 1,500m run, while a Saipan International School runner won the first medal in the same event in the middle school division, as the 2018 Public School System\/McDonald\u2019s All Schools Track and Field Championships kicked off yesterday at the Oleai Sports Complex oval.<\/p>\n<p>Koblerville\u2019s Abraham Saralu clocked in at 8:14.46 in the first race of the four-day competition to beat four other participants in the boys U7 finals. Jephda Hong checked in at 8:16.76 to give KES a 1-2 finish, while Agape Christian School\u2019s Reyviel Escarlan rounded out the Top 3 after posting 8:19.23.<\/p>\n<p>In the boys U13 division, SIS\u2019 Rintaro Miyawaki finished ahead of the pack after clocking in at 4:59.61. He was the lone runner in his field to complete the race under the five-minute mark, as runner-up A.J. Ruben of Hopwood Middle School submitted 5:54.34 and third placer Caleb Dai of Agape registered 5:45.50.<\/p>\n<p>In the girls U13, Hopwood\u2019s Coume Kaga recorded 6:22.77 to prevail against two Agape runners\u2014Jenny Lin (7:06.22) and Elvira Zhang (8:29.51).<\/p>\n<p>In other results, SIS and Agape split the top honors in the U9 division. David Ye handed the Geckos a gold medal when he ruled the boys race after posting 6:37.25 and downing Agape\u2019s Joe Lin (7:42.60) and KES\u2019 Wen Long (8:45.31). In the girls race, Agape had a 1-2 finish with Barbara Wang coming in at first after timing in at 7:35.51 and Angeline Quan checking in at 8:17.80. SIS\u2019 Phoenix Gross completed the podium finish after logging 9:39.21.<\/p>\n<p>In the boys U11, WSR won the gold and bronze medals, thanks to Zhi Lin and Imtiaz Nadim, who finished the middle distance race in 6:29.37 and 7:12.86, respectively. KES\u2019 Kobe Imperial was the silver medalist after registering 6:51.23. In the girls contest, Eucon International School got its first medal when Kaithlyn Andrei Chavez defeated five other runners after posting 6:13.28. Brilliant Star School\u2019s Savita Sikkel (6:25.10) and KES\u2019 Megan Elayda (7:23.72) settled for the silver and bronze medals, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Twin wins for MHS<br \/>\nIn the high school division, Marianas High School earned two first place finishes.<\/p>\n<p>Ken Song gave the Dolphins its first gold in the division after besting six other runners in the boys U15\u2019s 1,500m run.  Song timed in at 5:10.12 and was joined in the podium by SIS\u2019 Kuu Nishimura (5:17.77) and Hopwood\u2019s Shakid Shakib (5:23.34).<\/p>\n<p>MHS won its second gold medal in the same event in the girls U18 after Therize Millare (5:30.36) edged SIS\u2019 Tania Tan (5:33.91) and Anika Snyder (5:43.33). Five other runners raced in the finals.<\/p>\n<p>In the boys U18, Tinian\u2019s Tyler Santos was the top finisher and the only runner to break the five-minute barrier with his 4:55.
