{"id":275856,"date":"2018-05-11T06:06:52","date_gmt":"2018-05-10T20:06:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/?p=275856"},"modified":"2018-05-11T06:06:52","modified_gmt":"2018-05-10T20:06:52","slug":"thunder-chicken-opens-saipan-location","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/thunder-chicken-opens-saipan-location\/","title":{"rendered":"Thunder Chicken opens Saipan location"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The CNMI has been graced with an Asian restaurant franchise that seeks to please the palates of chicken lovers. <\/p>\n<p>Thunder Chicken, a franchise originating in South Korea, has opened a branch on Middle Road, in Chalan Laulau, and aims to take the Commonwealth by storm with its chicken-infused dishes and prides itself in innovative and non-traditional styles of serving chicken. <\/p>\n<p>Thunder Chicken first got its feet wet in Guam and it has now been brought to Saipan. The chicken joint officially opened its doors last Saturday, May 5. <\/p>\n<p>According to Thunder Chicken manager Jung Gon Kim, Thunder Chicken is for those who want to have a taste of chicken in new, unique ways. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThunder Chicken is very popular in Korea. It&#8217;s a new style of chicken\u2026 they make many different kinds with different tastes,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<p>What makes Thunder Chicken different from all the other chicken joints in the CNMI is their secret ingredients that are used to marinate their chicken an entire day. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have a special spice for our marinade. We also marinate 24 hours before\u2014at least\u2026we also have a machine to marinate and there is a special sauce from Korea that is our secret\u2026we just have our own unique way of cooking our chicken,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Thunder Chicken is currently exclusive to chicken dishes, but hopes to expand their menu in the future to accommodate local tastes. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are focusing on the chicken now and then later on, we plan to add to our menu\u2026In Korea, some franchises have pizza, too, so maybe later on,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<p>The public can try up to nine different flavors of chicken at Thunder Chicken: the classic crispy fried chicken, fried chicken slathered in a sweet and spicy sauce, padak chicken, sweet soy sauce chicken, spicy chili fried chicken, fried chicken in a sweet onion sauce, fried chicken in a sweet garlic sauce, sunsal chicken slathered in sweet and spicy sauce, or just plain crispy sunsal chicken. <\/p>\n<p>The standard price for one order is $20. That\u2019s eight pieces of chicken.
