Diaz Memorial Youth League last Monday at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium.<\/p>\n<p>In the curtain-raiser, the NSA Warriors I topped the 670 Sonics XVII, 46-34, while Saipan Vegas Extreme outclassed the Chinatown Titans in the second game, 54-49.<\/p>\n<p>Carlos Elchico and Duncan Laxa delivered timely baskets for Saipan Vegas Extreme with the former making two triples in the fourth quarter and the latter posting 5 markers, including 3 of the team\u2019s last 5 points. Elchico and Laxa\u2019s field goals allowed Saipan Vegas Extreme to keep its distance against the Titans.<\/p>\n<p>The Titans were forced to mount a comeback in the fourth quarter, as Saipan Vegas Extreme grabbed the lead at the end of the third, 41-31.<\/p>\n<p>Daryl Metran nailed 6 of his 8 points in the penultimate frame to help Saipan Vegas Extreme turn a 21-24 halftime deficit to a double-digit spread, going into the third canto. Tommy Lee Augustin and Eric Leon Guerrero combined for 8 more points in that third-quarter recovery, while Elchico and Laxa finished things off for the winning squad.<\/p>\n<p>In the first game, the NSA Warriors I led right from the get-go for the 12-point winning margin.<\/p>\n<p>Henry Aguon started things off for the Warriors I, as he scored 8 points in the first quarter, which ended with his team on top by twin digits, 14-4. <\/p>\n<p>The NSA Warriors I took early control of the match, as they held the 670 Sonics XVII to four free throws in the opening 10 minutes of play.
