The band is dedicated to providing top quality music and entertainment in support of the U.S. Navy\u2019s retention and recruiting programs, and for internal and external public relations. \u2028<strong>(PR)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Saipan Chamber sets June meeting<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Saipan Chamber of Commerce will be having its June general membership meeting this Wednesday, June 6, at the Saipan World Resort.\u00a0 This meeting highlights the annual presentation of the Chamber\u2019s Scholarship Awards. The Chamber will award six scholarships of $2,000 each.\u00a0 Guest speakers will be Polly Masga, general manager of Marianas Medical Center; Janel Pangelinan, claims processor with Pacifica Insurance; and Nicole Babauta, CNMI Small Business Development Center director.\u00a0Reservations will be accepted at executive@saipanchamber.com for parties of four or more.\u00a0\u00a0<strong>(PR)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Japanese class kicks off summer library institute <\/strong><br \/>\nLast May 16, the Teen Summer Library Experience and Adult Summer Library Institute kicked off with a free Introduction to Japanese class taught by Yoko Fujioka-Kern. The Joeten-Kiyu Public Library invites the community to attend the remaining classes: tomorrow, June 6, and Friday, June 8. In a series of eight classes, participants will learn the basics of Japanese such as basic pronunciation, Japanese history, culture, and simple vocabulary. Because it is part of the Collaborative Summer Library Institute, participants are able to count this class toward completing their reading log. Call the library at 670-235-7322\/23 for questions\/concerns. <strong>(PR)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Military training at FDM, Warning Area 517<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>ASAN, Guam<\/strong>\u2014The U.S. military will conduct training at Farallon de Medinilla on June 4-7, from 10am to 11pm. <\/p>\n<p>The military will also conduct training at Warning Area 517 on June 9, from 5pm to 10pm. <\/p>\n<p>It is recommended the public, fishermen and marine tour operators monitor the Coast Guard broadcast notice to mariners for advisories. <\/p>\n<p>The general location of the training on the island of Farallon de Medinilla will be in a 12-nautical mile radius of the island.<\/p>\n<p>W-517 is activated south of latitude 12\u00b0 40\u2019 00\u201dN. Santa Rosa Reef and Galvez Banks are open for public use. W-517 begins south of Guam and extends south-southwest in international waters. (PR)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Club 200 dinner on Oct. 13<\/strong><br \/>\nThe American Red Cross-NMI Chapter will hold its annual Club 200 fundraising dinner on Oct. 13. This year marks the 40thanniversary of the NMI chapter here in the Commonwealth. This year\u2019s theme is \u201cRockin\u2019 out to 40 years,\u201d a rock-and-roll celebration of 40 years of humanitarian work. There will be raffle prizes, dance and costume contests as well as food and beverages.
