That has prompted the administration of Gov. Ralph DLG Torres to ask the public to drive carefully, especially this rainy season.<\/p>\n<p>According to Department of Public Safety spokesperson Jackie Rae Shepard, many of the accidents in the last few days included collisions involving parked cars as well as collisions with other stationary objects.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe recent number of vehicular accidents is a paramount concern for Gov. [Ralph DLG] Torres and his administration. Gov. Torres extends his heartfelt condolences to the victims and reminds the community to exercise caution and vigilance when driving out on the roads, particularly during this rainy season,\u201d said press secretary Kevin Bautista.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWords and public reminders are only the first step. Ensuring public safety and the wellbeing of our residents has been and always will be a primary responsibility of the governor and his administration. DPS has already been engaged to actively crack down on impaired and distracted driving, and our law enforcement officers in both DPS and DFEMS have done a good job at directing traffic at accident scenes and responding to life-threatening cases,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Bautista said that no one should accept impaired driving \u201cand it\u2019s everyone\u2019s business to stop impaired drivers from getting behind the wheel.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis rainy season, Gov. Torres encourages the Commonwealth to be vigilant and careful on the roads. Buckle up, pay attention to speed limits and road conditions, and never drive impaired.
