The Northern Marianas Protection & Advocacy Systems Inc., in collaboration with Peerlink National Technical Assistance Center, will be hosting an Introduction to Recovery and Peer Support training. <\/p>\n
Peerlink works to strengthen the capacity and infrastructure of peer-run programs and traditional mental health organizations.<\/p>\n
These sessions are open to all who are interested about the topics of recovery and peer support, including family members, and providers.<\/p>\n
The conversation on recovery talks about perceptions and ideals around mental health and addiction recovery. <\/p>\n
Recovery from mental disorders and\/or substance abuse disorders is a process of change through which individuals may improve their health and wellness, live a self-directed life, and strive to achieve their full potential.<\/p>\n
The discussion then moves to peer support, services run by people who personal experience living with psychiatric disabilities and\/or addictions. Peers understand how it can affect every aspect of living, including one\u2019s hope for the future.<\/p>\n
The training for Saipan will be held on Monday, June 11, 2018 from 6pm to 9pm at the Northern Marianas College, Room A-4.<\/p>\n
The Rota training will be on Thursday, June 14 from 9am to 12pm at the Northern Marianas College-Rota, Room A-1.<\/p>\n
These sessions are open to all who are interested about the topics of recovery and peer support, including peers, family members, and providers.<\/p>\n
