On June 14, 2018, the Kellogg Co. recalled\u00a015.3 oz. and 23 oz. packages of Kellogg\u2019s Honey Smacks cereal that are suspected of being contaminated with salmonella.<\/p>\n
The items recalled involves Kellogg\u2019s Honey Smacks cereal that have a \u201cbest if used by\u201d date from June 14, 2018 through June 14, 2019. The \u201cbest if used by\u201d date is on the box top.<\/p>\n
The recalled 15.3 oz. Kellogg\u2019s Honey Smacks cereal has a UPC code of 38000 39103. The recalled 23.0 oz. Kellogg\u2019s Honey Smacks cereal has a UPC code of 38000 14810. The UPC code is on the bottom of the box.<\/p>\n
In an advisory from the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp., it advised consumers and retailers to not eat recalled Kellogg\u2019s Honey Smacks cereal. <\/p>\n
\u201cCheck your home for the recalled cereal and throw it away or return it to the place of purchase for a refund. <\/p>\n
\u201cEven if some of the cereal was eaten and no one got sick, throw the rest of it away or return it for a refund.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf you store cereal in another container without the packaging and don\u2019t remember the brand or type, throw it away.<\/p>\n
\u201cThoroughly wash the container with warm, soapy water before using it again, to remove harmful germs that could contaminate other food,\u201d the advisory stated.<\/p>\n
Retailers were advised not to sell or serve recalled Kellogg\u2019s Honey Smacks cereal.<\/p>\n

Most people infected with\u00a0Salmonella\u00a0develop the following signs and symptoms 12-72 hours after being exposed to the bacteria:<\/p>\n
