A too high body temperature may cause damage to the brain or other vital organs. <\/p>\n<p>It is most important, especially in the islands\u2019 hot tropical climate, to stay hydrated by drinking water, stay cool, and stay informed. <\/p>\n<p>Below are the different types of heat-related illnesses (from most to least serve), how to recognize them, and what to do when presented with signs of them. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Page-4_06-21-2018.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Page-4_06-21-2018.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"1752\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-278603\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Tips:<\/p>\n<p>Stay in an air-conditioned area during the hottest hours of the day. <\/p>\n<p>Wear light, loose-fitting clothing. <\/p>\n<p>Drink water often. Don\u2019t wait until you\u2019re thirsty. <\/p>\n<p>Avoid unnecessary hard work or activities if you are outside or in a building without air-conditioning<\/p>\n<p>Avoid unnecessary sun exposure. When in the sun, wear a hat, preferably with a wide brim.
